Greater Efficiency for Electricity and Heat Generation from Biomass
Gasification technology is improving by the day, not in small part by policy and incentive driven innovation in Germany that promotes smaller scale and distributed, site-specific solutions that maximize the heat and electric output. A sustainable operation requires a sustainably scaled input of biomass resources and this in turn reduces the risk of mechanical failure induced by temperature fluctuation and tar build-up. In Germany, Grenol produces a 115kW gasifier with patented gas cleaning technology for a highly efficient operation. By converting wet biomass into bifocal with HTC, a high-calorie and consistent feedstock also becomes available for gasification to ensure the sustainability of operations and not only rely on precious wood resources.
